fermacell™ floor systems combine high mechanical strength with a low installation height and low weight. As the installation process is carried out entirely without the introduction of moisture, swelling in moisture-sensitive substrates is consistently prevented.
This means the floor is ready for use immediately after the step joints have been bonded, significantly speeding up construction progress. The systems offer proven benefits in terms of sound and fire insulation and, thanks to their high point load-bearing capacity, can be used universally in all construction methods. This combination of technical performance and time savings makes them an efficient solution for new builds and refurbishments.

Enhanced fire safety: Tried and tested for 60 minutes in the case of timber-beamed ceilings without additional layers in the event of the ceiling surface catching fire. By installing additional structures beneath the fermacell® flooring elements, 90 or 120 minutes feasible – ideal for meeting higher fire safety requirements in commercial construction.
Quieter living spaces: Achieves 63 dB airborne sound insulation and 53 dB impact sound performance - exceeding Building Regulations requirements by up to 18 dB.
ㅤSuitable for damp locations: Safe to use in Damp rooms in water exposure classes. Suitable for use in bathrooms, kitchens or utility rooms in residential and commercial buildings, for example.

Dämmstoffe zur zusätzlichen Wärme- und Schalldämmung sowie für den Höhenausgleich unter fermacell® Estrichelementen müssen von fermacell® James Hardie dafür freigegeben sein. Unsere freigegebenen Dämmstoffe weisen die notwendige Festigkeit auf und sind auf die Eigenschaften der Estrichelemente und auf die geforderte Belastbarkeit abgestimmt. Eine Liste entsprechender Dämmstoffe finden Sie hier.
Zusätzliche Angaben zur Trittschallverbesserung sind im Handbuch:" fermacell®™ Bodensysteme - Planung und Verarbeitung" und in unserer Dämmstoffliste nachzulesen. Für sichtbare Holzbalkendecken wird zur effektiven Trittschallverbesserung u.a. das fermacell®™ Waben-Dämmsystem empfohlen.
Standard formats
Tiles and natural stone slabs with a maximum edge length of 330 mm may generally be used on all fermacell® screed elements.
If impact sound insulation boards made of mineral wool or fermacell® screed elements laminated with mineral wool are used, natural stone or terracotta tiles are not permitted.
Tiles are laid using the thin-bed method on fermacell® gypsum fibre screed panels. When using fermacell™ Flex adhesive, a primer is not required. Tiles can be laid on fermacell® Powerpanel TE using either the thin-bed or medium-bed method. When using fermacell™ Flex Adhesive, a primer (e.g. fermacell™ Deep Primer) is required.
Large-format tiles
fermacell® screed elements are suitable for laying stoneware tiles of any size. Certain specifications must be strictly adhered to during installation. Further information on this can be found in the tile list.
Further necessary information can be found in our handbook: "fermacell®™ Floor Systems – Planning and Installation", as well as in the document: "Installation Guidelines for Tiled Flooring on fermacell Floor Systems". Only approved systems may be used for bonding. Please refer to the same document for further guidance.
fermacell® screed elements are suitable as a substrate for the direct bonding of multi-layer parquet in accordance with DIN EN 13489 (e.g. pre-finished parquet elements) and mosaic parquet in accordance with DIN EN 13488. The latter must be laid in a pattern (e.g. herringbone or cube pattern), as this allows the parquet floor to expand in different directions in the event of swelling.
Mosaic parquet must only be installed in a different direction or using other solid wood species and types of parquet with the adhesive manufacturer’s approval. You can also find information on parquet adhesives in our list of recommendations.

A variety of resilient floor coverings can be laid over fermacell® screed elements, such as carpet, laminate, cork, PVC, linoleum, elastomer and LVT design flooring.

Mit fermacell® Estrichelementen kann aufgrund des Stufenfalzes auch im Bereich von Türdurchgängen eine feste (kraftschlüssige) Verbindung hergestellt werden.
